‘Remoaners’ Could Be Wrong!: Happiness Levels Rising
According to recent figures from the Office for National Statistics, average happiness levels in the UK are rapidly rising. This could illustrate that more people are relaxing about Brexit, even the so-called ‘remoaners’ who were disappointed by the result in 2016.
As stated by the ONS figures, average life satisfaction among UK residents has grown by more than 80 per cent, with more than a third feeling their life is more worthwhile. This contrasts with Northern Ireland who saw their happiness and life satisfaction levels fall slightly.
The statistical body explained that these positive results could be down to an improved economy or record-low unemployment rates. They further cited evidence that more people are feeling “relaxed about the implications of Brexit”, and how it will change their standard of living.
The ONSĀ warned against getting too comfortable with the way things are now, and emphasised that anxiety levels in the UK have nonetheless risen in the last two years.
“We have yet to leave the EU and hence the implications on the daily lives of people in the UK remain to be seen”, they added.
