Brexit Boost As Exports Soar

A massive increase in exports was celebrated this week, satisfying many pro-Brexit officials
According to official figures overall exports were up 14 per cent to £602 billion for last year following the referendum result.
Among the biggest winners is British music exports which are up 13 per cent to an overall £2.5 billion.
The figures come as International Trade Secretary Liam Fox launches a drive for greater recognition of small businesses in growing exports from Britain.Last weekend we celebrated Small Business Saturday where many local businesses were given the opportunity to showcase their goods and services. Dr Fox recognised this holiday in a recent announcement, and hopes to see more small businesses encouraged as the UK leaves the EU.He went on: “Every day I hear from countries all over the world about the demand for high quality British produce, and I want companies of all sizes to makes the most of these opportunities.Dr Fox insisted the Government’s focus should be on small businesses- “the real heroes”- and help them continue to drive our economy growth.
Following the referendum, the number of small businesses grew by 190,000 last year, and they now employ 16.1 million people in the UK.The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates that 90 per cent of global growth in the next 20 years will be outside the EU, and as one of the world’s largest economies with Dr Fox’s department beginning work on a series of free trade deals outside the EU.The Credit Protection Association is a credit management company established in 1914.
