Feather & Black Jobs Saved
20th December 2017.
Swedish bedding giant Hilding Anders today came to the rescue of stricken UK bedding and furniture retailer Feather & Black.
Saving 104 jobs across the country, Hilding Anders bought 17 of Feather & Black’s 20 UK stores from the firm’s administrators.
Feather & Black collapsed last month, and was soon part of a long list of British retailers who had fallen into administration during the year. (Please see our news post for more info)
UK-based wholesaler, Palmer and Harvey, collapsed back in November and recently forced 400 more workers into redundancy after failing to secure a suitable buyer.
Feather & Black sister company Multiyork, which went into administration also in November, is still struggling to find a buyer and 500 jobs are left hanging in the balance.
Feather & Black have been rescued, however, and Hilding Anders appears just as excited about their future collaboration.
“I am very excited by this opportunity to re-enter the UK market with F&B,” said Hilding Anders chairman and group chief executive Pepyn Dinandt.
Hilding Anders is planning to retain the F&B branding.
